What the New System Means for Students & Authors

The upgraded White Black Legal author workflow gives you a clearer, more transparent publication journey. Instead of depending only on email updates, you can use your author account to follow your manuscript, complete required steps and keep important publication records organised in one place.

Know Exactly Where Your Paper Stands

Follow the manuscript from submission and editorial review to revision, acceptance and publication. Clear status stages reduce uncertainty about what is happening with your paper.

Your Own Author Account

Register once and use your author portal for manuscript-related activity. Returning authors can access their submitted papers and publication information from a dedicated workspace.

Revision & Document Uploads in One Place

When a revision or publication document is required, upload it against the relevant manuscript instead of losing track of different versions across long email threads.

Digital Submission Acknowledgement

After a successful submission, your manuscript reference and acknowledgement remain connected to the publication workflow, giving you a clear formal record for personal, academic or institutional use.

Clear Publication Formalities

After acceptance, the workflow clearly separates the required publication formalities so authors can understand what remains pending before the manuscript is ready for publication.

Publication Record Connected to Your Journey

Once published, your manuscript journey connects with the journal's publication record, helping you move from submission to the final published article and certificate-related information more smoothly.

What Authors Say About Publishing With Us

New Author System: the portal adds a structured digital layer to the journal's existing editorial process. Editorial decisions remain with the journal; the portal helps authors understand and manage their own publication journey more clearly.
Author Portal Help

Frequently Asked Questions About the New System

The Author Portal is your dedicated manuscript workspace. It helps you access manuscripts linked to your account, view publication-related information, follow workflow updates, manage supported document uploads and access author-side records such as the submission acknowledgement.

No. The journal's public online submission page remains available. Creating an Author Account is recommended because it gives you access to the dedicated author workspace and makes it easier to keep eligible manuscript and publication records organised in one place.

Eligible existing submissions can be linked to an Author Account through the manuscript-claim workflow. Verification is required before a manuscript is attached to an account, helping protect author records from being claimed by the wrong person.

Supported workflow updates are reflected against the manuscript, and important editorial events may also generate email notifications to the author. You can additionally use the journal's paper tracking facility to check the current status of a submission.

If the editorial status is Revision Required, open the relevant manuscript in your Author Portal and upload the requested revised document through the manuscript document workflow. Once a revision is submitted, the manuscript can return to editorial review.

After a manuscript is marked Accepted for Publication, the required publication formalities are completed. These may include the copyright form, payment confirmation and final manuscript requirements as applicable. Publication takes place only after the required formalities are complete and the paper is added to the appropriate journal issue.

Yes. For accepted manuscripts, the author workflow is designed to show the progress of the active publication formalities so you can understand what has been completed and what still requires action before the paper is ready for publication.

When a manuscript is available in your Author Portal, its acknowledgement can be accessed from the manuscript workflow. The acknowledgement provides a formal digital record connected to the submission and manuscript reference for your personal, academic or institutional records.

Once the article is published through the journal's issue publication process, the manuscript status is updated to Published and the publication record can be connected with the author-side manuscript journey. Authors should also retain the final article link and publication details for their records.

Yes. When a publication certificate has been issued, White Black Legal provides a public online certificate-verification facility so certificate details can be checked using the applicable verification information.
